The Rules

In the establishment year, the Annus Horribilis of 2020, the one who has opened the least tagged gifts shall be deemed the Recipient of Ye Gift Perilous, unless it is the supplier of Ye Gift Perilous, in which case the Recipient is the next least.  Only one person may open Ye Gift Perilous: all rewards or punishments found within are theirs alone, to do with as they see fit. Any messes created in the opening of Ye Gift Perilous are likewise the responsibility of the Recipient. Open the package with due care and attention! The Recipient of Ye Gift Perilous must use only their hands, to open the package: no tools, scissors, scythes, swords, flamethrowers or magic powers may be brought to bear upon Ye Gift Perilous, or Dire Consequences shall surely befall. They who opened Ye Gift Perilous one Yule must provide the next for the next, and decide how the next recipient shall be determined, thus shall the dread tradition continue, down the ages.
